African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential aspirant Mohammed Hayatu-Deen has unveiled a hardline security agenda for the 2027 elections, pledging that terrorism convictions will carry mandatory life imprisonment under his watch.
In a statement released Tuesday, the former banking executive vowed to end "quiet releases" and judicial backlogs that have allowed high-profile criminals to escape justice.
Hayatu-Deen’s plan includes the establishment of a specialized Terrorism Court and a total overhaul of intelligence coordination among Nigeria’s security agencies.

He drew a direct line between the current wave of insecurity and the country’s economic woes, noting that farmers’ inability to access their fields is a primary driver of rising food inflation.
According to Qubes Magazine, Hayatu-Deen emphasized that "restoring the authority of the state" is the only way to break the cycle of poverty and recruitment into criminal networks.
His proposal comes as the current administration continues to battle significant security challenges in states like Plateau and Benue, making national safety a central pillar of the upcoming 2027 campaign.
