Grammy-nominated Afrobeats superstar Davido has issued an official apology to his fans after failing to appear at a headline show in Lagos on Sunday.

The singer was scheduled to perform alongside Zlatan Ibile for the fifth anniversary of "Secret Place" in Ikate Elegushi, but he never made it to the stage.

Taking to his Instagram story on Monday, Davido explained that logistical hurdles, specifically a shortage of aviation fuel, made it impossible for him to fly in for the event.

He cited broader global conflicts as the root cause of the supply chain issues. “The world happened to me yesterday. These wars around the world have really started penetrating. Finding fuel was a problem yesterday to even fly,” Davido stated.

The singer expressed regret to the fans who waited for him and promised to make it up to them. “To my fans that pulled up… sorry I missed it. We’re going to run it back again soon,” he added.

According to Qubes Magazine, the Nigerian aviation sector has been grappling with intermittent Jet A1 fuel shortages, leading to numerous flight cancellations and delays for high-profile travelers and commercial airlines alike.
