A professional clearing agent identified as Agoro Moninuola has been arraigned by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) before a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos over his alleged involvement in an audacious attempt to export 2.80 kilograms of high-grade cocaine to the United Kingdom through the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja.
The defendant was brought before Justice Daniel Osiagor on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, facing a three-count charge encompassing criminal conspiracy, unlawful procurement, and international narcotic exportation.
According to the NDLEA prosecuting counsel, Arit Okon, Moninuola conspired with two elusive syndicates identified as Azeez Nurudeen and Nuru—who both remain at large—to traffic the illicit drug shipment through the SAHCO Export Shed located within the MMIA customs area in April 2026.
The cocaine consignment was intercepted by eagle-eyed agents during a routine outward cargo examination before it could be loaded onto a London-bound aircraft.

The prosecution further alleged that Moninuola illegally co-opted the logistical services of Ama Obinna Ufiem of Amirotex Global Nigeria Limited and Adebayo Ayomide Stephen of STG World Cargo Logistics to facilitate the clearing process, directly violating Sections 14(b) and 11(b) of the NDLEA Act.
Moninuola pleaded not guilty to all counts. Despite an eight-paragraph counter-affidavit filed by the agency opposing the suspect's release, defense counsel Chief Benson Ndakara successfully argued the bail application.
Justice Osiagor subsequently admitted the defendant to a ₦10 million bail with one surety in a like sum, adjourning the trial to October 28, 2026.
