Former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has taken a calculated swipe at opposition presidential hopefuls relying heavily on digital momentum, warning that unseating President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in next year's general election requires deep-seated structural influence rather than internet popularity.
In a public statement issued on Sunday through his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, the veteran politician urged delegates of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to prioritize experienced leadership over what he termed as "political experimentation" during their forthcoming primary decisions.
Atiku argued that Nigeria’s compounding economic hardships, massive debt burden, escalating security challenges, and apparent institutional decline leave no room for a "learning-on-the-job" presidency.

He emphasized that the current state of the nation requires a commander-in-chief who possesses a vast national appeal, tested administrative competence, and an established nationwide political structure capable of effectively executing governance strategies from day one.
