The suspects are linked to the horrific November 2025 attack on the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in Eruku, where worshippers were kidnapped and killed during a live-streamed service.

The gang members, identified as specialists in cattle rustling, kidnapping, and arms dealing, were apprehended in multiple locations including Kaiama, Patigi, and Oke-Ode.

“The gang members were arrested at multiple locations... During the operations, the suspects abandoned an anti-aircraft rifle and three AK-47 rifles,” DCP Placid stated.

The 33 individuals were part of a larger group of 50 suspects paraded on Monday as part of the police's intensified clampdown on high-grade criminal syndicates.
