Shock as Former Nigeria International Michael Eneramo Dies After Collapsing on the Pitch


The Nigerian football community is in mourning following the sudden death of former Super Eagles striker Michael Eneramo. 


The 40-year-old reportedly slumped and died while playing a football match in the Angwan Yelwa area of Kaduna State on Friday.

According to SCORENigeria, Eneramo was featuring as a second-half substitute in a local match when he collapsed without any contact. 


Despite immediate efforts to revive him on the spot, he was later pronounced dead at the hospital.


The powerful striker enjoyed a storied career, notably becoming a legend at Tunisian club Esperance and featuring for Besiktas in Turkey and Lobi Stars in Nigeria. 


Following his retirement, Eneramo dedicated his time to running a football academy to scout young talent. 


The official Super Eagles social media handle confirmed the news, posting a tribute with the caption, "Rest in peace Michael."
