Elsie Okpocha, the estranged wife of popular comedian Basketmouth, has officially threatened legal action against individuals and blogs spreading rumors of "paternity fraud" regarding her marriage.
The couple, who wed in 2010 and separated in December 2022, have recently been the subject of viral reports claiming a DNA test triggered their divorce.
In a formal letter issued on Saturday by her legal team, Primeview Legal, Elsie categorically denied the allegations.
The statement warned that the public must desist from publishing unfounded stories that constitute defamation and an invasion of privacy.
The legal representative expressed particular concern for the psychological well-being of the couple's first child, who has reportedly faced bullying due to the social media narrative.
"Some innocent members of the public may take such publications as the true state of things... and begin to bully their son with the consequential psychological trauma," the letter stated.
According to Daily Post, Elsie is prepared to sue any platform found guilty of perpetuating these claims to protect her family's integrity.
