Electrician Rescued as Anambra Police Bust Kidnap Syndicate Using Fake Job Leads


Police operatives in Anambra State, in collaboration with the Agunechemba Vigilante Group, have successfully rescued a kidnapped electrician and arrested three suspects in Nnobi, Idemili North LGA. 


The suspects—Chidalu Obi (25), Chichebem Ojenigbo (26), and Chikannechukwu Eze (20)—allegedly lured the victim to a remote location under the pretext of offering him professional work.

Upon arrival, the victim was blindfolded at gunpoint and held captive in a bush at Umuezeala Awuda. 


The police recovered a locally made Beretta pistol and ₦469,000 in ransom money, which the suspects admitted had been transferred into a SportyBet account. 


State PPRO Tochukwu Ikenga confirmed the suspects' confession and reiterated the command’s commitment to curbing such "job offer" scams.
