Golf legend Tiger Woods was involved in a serious single-vehicle accident in Martin County, Florida, on Friday afternoon.

According to AFP news, the 50-year-old superstar's SUV was found overturned on its driver’s side just after 2:00 p.m. local time, occurring in the same town where Woods currently resides.

While the Martin County Sheriff’s Office has not yet released specific details regarding the cause of the crash or Woods' current medical condition, a press briefing is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. ET. Images from the scene, captured by WPTV, show the vehicle sustained significant damage.

This incident comes at a fragile time for the 15-time major champion, who has spent the last several months recovering from a ruptured Achilles tendon and a back surgery performed in October.

Woods had only just returned to competitive play on Tuesday for the TGL finals.

“I’m lucky to be alive and also have a limb,” Woods famously said following his 2021 rollover crash in Los Angeles, which nearly resulted in a leg amputation.

The golfing world is now holding its breath as the Masters at Augusta National is set to begin on April 9.
