The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a man and his two friends for allegedly orchestrating the abduction of his own father, Alhaji Ahmadu, in Malabu.
The victim was kidnapped in Jera village, Fufore Local Government Area, on January 31. Following the incident, police launched an investigation leading to the arrest of three suspects: Lawali Haruba (45), Da'u Alhaji Ahmadu (28)—the victim's biological son—and Yahaya Ibrahim (25), all residents of Jera.
During interrogation, the son and his accomplices confessed to their involvement in the crime.
Confirming the arrest, Police Spokesperson SP Suleiman Nguroje stated that efforts are ongoing to rescue the victim unhurt and apprehend other members of the criminal syndicate.
"The suspects are in custody while investigations continue," Nguroje told newsmen.
The shocking case of filial betrayal has sent ripples through the local community, highlighting the extreme lengths to which individuals can go for criminal gain, even against their own family.
The police have assured the public of a thorough investigation and that all involved will face the full weight of the law.
