Father Seeks Justice Over Son's Mysterious Lagos Hotel Death
A grieving father, Henry Airenekhuemen, is demanding answers after his son, Mattias, was found dead in a swimming pool at Signatious Hotel in Ajao Estate, Lagos. The young man had attended a pool party on Saturday to sell tickets but was later discovered lifeless in the water.
Airenekhuemen expressed doubt about the drowning narrative, noting unusual physical signs. “If he truly drowned, why was his stomach flat instead of being swollen? And why was there foam coming out of his mouth and nose?” he questioned.
The family reported the incident to police, who detained three persons: the hotel manager, a female companion of the deceased, and the friend who found him. The father also revealed that a hotel staffer called to “settle the whole issue,” deepening suspicion.
Police visited the scene, but the Lagos PPRO had not responded to inquiries at the time of reporting. The hotel claimed to be under renovation and temporarily shut.
