The Nasarawa State Police Command has successfully rescued four abducted children and reunited them with their families following a covert, intelligence-driven operation carried out in collaboration with the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command.
The rescue operation was launched after a report was filed on December 31, 2025, at the New Nyanya Police Division in Karu Local Government Area, reporting the children missing under suspicious circumstances. According to police authorities, the report immediately triggered a coordinated investigation.
Confirming the development, the Police Public Relations Officer of the command, SP Ramhan Nansel, said detectives acted swiftly on credible intelligence, leading to the identification of the suspects’ hideout.
Operatives reportedly stormed the location during a discreet operation, successfully recovering the children without any harm. Preliminary investigations revealed that the children were allegedly abducted and kept in confinement by a 28-year-old suspect identified as Abraham Asoje, who reportedly worked alongside one Joy Bolaje, aged 29. Both suspects are residents of Ado Junction in Karu LGA.

“The children were safely recovered unhurt and have since been reunited with their respective families,” Nansel stated, adding that investigations are ongoing to apprehend other suspects believed to be connected to the crime.
The Commissioner of Police in Nasarawa State, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, commended the officers involved in the operation for their professionalism, dedication and swift response. He described the rescue as a clear demonstration of effective policing and strong inter-command collaboration between Nasarawa and FCT police formations.
CP Mohammed reassured residents of the command’s unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property, with particular emphasis on safeguarding children and other vulnerable members of society. He urged parents and guardians to remain vigilant and proactive in monitoring the movements of their wards.
The police also appealed to members of the public to promptly report suspicious activities to the nearest police station or through designated emergency lines, stressing that timely information remains critical in combating crime across the state.
