Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl has confirmed the club is in active talks with star striker Harry Kane over a contract extension. The 32-year-old England captain, who joined from Tottenham in 2023 for an initial €100 million, has been in phenomenal form, scoring 119 goals in 126 appearances.
Eberl revealed the negotiations at a Bundesliga event in Frankfurt, stating, “We're talking to Harry, we're talking. Everyone knows at some point a decision has to be made.” Kane, who finally won his first major trophy with Bayern's 2024-25 Bundesliga title, expressed his contentment at the club last October, saying his desire for a Premier League return had "gone down a little bit."
Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen echoed the positive sentiment, highlighting Kane's integration. “Harry has great confidence in us and he feels comfortable in Munich. He and his family are settled in. Therefore we've got absolutely no reason to rush,” Dreesen said.
This season, Kane has maintained a blistering pace, netting 34 goals in 30 games across all competitions. He is on a mission to break Robert Lewandowski's single-season Bundesliga record of 41 goals, having already scored 21 in 19 league outings. His contributions have also been vital in Bayern's Champions League campaign, where they currently sit second in their group.
