Enugu Police parade suspect Orlu Chukwuemeka one-chance robbery arrest


The Enugu State Police Command has arrested a 25-year-old man, Orlu Chukwuemeka, for his alleged involvement in a one-chance robbery that took place along Chime Avenue in Enugu. The incident left a female passenger injured after she boarded what she believed was a regular commercial bus.


According to The Sun on Wednesday 9 December, 2025, police operatives from the New Haven Division and the Distress Response Squad responded quickly after receiving a distress call in the early hours of December 6. The officers traced the suspects and intercepted them within Independence Layout, leading to the arrest of Chukwuemeka, while his accomplice escaped.

    Police spokesperson, SP Daniel Ndukwe, explained that the suspects had posed as commercial bus operators using an unregistered white mini bus around the Fourth Dimension area. They allegedly abducted the woman, attacked her, and pushed her out of the moving vehicle after taking her phone and ATM card. The victim was rushed to the hospital and later identified the arrested suspect as one of the attackers.


    Ndukwe added that the suspect has been arraigned and remanded in custody while the search for the second suspect continues.


    The Commissioner of Police, Mamman Giwa, praised residents for raising the alarm quickly, saying community support is vital in tackling crime. He assured the public that the police will intensify efforts to keep the state safe during the festive season and beyond.


    The police pledged to ensure all those involved in the attack are brought to justice.
