Politics Is Off My Course — Oyedepo Tells Worshippers at Shiloh 2025

The Presiding Bishop of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, popularly known as Winners Chapel, **Bishop David Oyedepo, has firmly ruled out any possibility of venturing into partisan politics, stating that not even one billion dollars could persuade him to do so.

Oyedepo made the declaration while addressing worshippers during the impartation service at Shiloh 2025, the church’s annual convocation. He used the platform to admonish believers to remain committed to their God-given assignments rather than being distracted by pursuits outside their divine calling.

Speaking emphatically, the cleric said politics does not align with his life’s purpose. “Partisan politics is off my calling. If you give me $1 billion to join politics, I won’t, because it’s off my course,” Oyedepo stated, drawing loud reactions from the congregation.

According to him, individuals who abandon their divine purpose in pursuit of personal ambition often lose relevance and direction. He warned that success and fulfillment come from alignment with God’s plan rather than societal pressure or financial inducement.

Reflecting on past events, Oyedepo recalled warnings he had issued to the church concerning looming national challenges. “In 2015, I warned the church that trouble was coming. Didn’t trouble come?” he asked, suggesting that many of the country’s current difficulties were foreseen but ignored.

The cleric further stated that Nigeria and the world at large are facing deepening crises that require spiritual and divine solutions rather than mere political strategies. Citing Romans 8:19, Oyedepo said *“the world is groaning in darkness”* and is eagerly waiting *“for the manifestations of the sons of God.”

He added that believers who remain steadfast in their calling would soon rise to provide solutions to national and global problems, likening the coming move of God to the biblical exploits of Joseph and Daniel.

“The army of God is about to emerge to proffer solutions to national crises in the order of Joseph and Daniel. It is the day of what eyes have not seen nor ears heard,” Oyedepo declared.
