The Plateau State Government has successfully reclaimed a significant portfolio of assets illegally occupied within the Riders Park premises in Jos, in a decisive move described by officials as a major step towards building a world-class transport hub for the state.
According to the Group Managing Director and CEO of Plateau Express Services Group, Samuel Jok Gwott, the recovery operation marks a "significant turning point" in the ongoing efforts to restore and reposition the park. He stated that this action sets a new benchmark for the organization's infrastructure advancement and service optimization, directly aligning with the vision of the state's present administration.
“The good people of Plateau State have long desired a modern, organised transport park. This recovery is a major step toward realising that dream,” Gwott declared. He expressed strong confidence in the project's timeline, adding, “We are confident that by 2026, Plateau Express will be on the right track to delivering a fully developed Riders Park that meets the highest standards of public transport and commuter satisfaction.”

The Managing Director credited the success of the operation to the collaborative efforts of various state bodies, including the Secretary to the State Government, the Attorney General, and the Ministries of Housing & Urban Development and Transport. He framed this achievement as part of a broader pattern of transformative action under Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang.
