According to a Saturday statement from her office, the programme is powered by the Mocare Meranda Charity Foundation in partnership with the Office of the Deputy Speaker. Meranda emphasised that the project is aimed at equipping young people with the knowledge and creativity required to thrive in the modern tech-driven economy.
“We are excited to announce the annual Youth Summer Coding Bootcamp. The boot camp is designed to empower our young minds and prepare them for a very bright future,” she said. “I advise our youths not to miss this chance to learn, create, and innovate.”
Participants will be introduced to the fundamentals of coding, problem-solving techniques, and technology-driven creativity. The programme will also prepare them to explore career and entrepreneurial opportunities in the global digital space.
The move has been praised by community members as a timely effort to reduce youth unemployment and bridge the digital divide in Lagos. As Nigeria’s tech industry continues to expand, such programmes are expected to play a critical role in producing the next generation of innovators.
