In a startling turn of events, the Katsina State Police Command has uncovered a disturbing kidnapping conspiracy involving a 14-year-old girl who staged her own abduction and masterminded the kidnapping of her 4-year-old sister—all in a ploy to extort N50 million from their unsuspecting father.

This was revealed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abubakar Sadiq, during a press briefing at the Katsina Command Headquarters on Thursday.
According to Sadiq, the police received a complaint on February 20, 2025, from one Alhaji Badamasi Bala, who reported that his two daughters had been kidnapped and that a ransom of fifty million naira was demanded.
Shockingly, four months after the reported abduction, the 14-year-old girl resurfaced. During intense questioning, she confessed to orchestrating the entire kidnapping scheme, including her fake disappearance and the abduction of her younger sister.

She named three accomplices aged 25, 19, and 16, who were swiftly arrested by operatives of the Katsina Police Command.
Sadiq added, “The victim was rescued unharmed, and all the suspects confessed to their involvement in the crime. During the investigation, one live round of 7.62mm AK-47 ammunition was recovered from their possession.”
The case has since drawn widespread attention due to the ages of those involved and the unusual level of planning behind the crime. The police said investigations are ongoing and more details will be revealed as they emerge.
