Why is the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) trending?

NEPC promotes Nigerian exports under AfCFTA framework

The Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) is trending as it intensifies efforts to position Nigeria as a key player in the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), a $3 trillion market opportunity.

Recently, the NEPC urged Nigerian exporters to capitalize on the vast prospects presented by AfCFTA. By encouraging businesses to expand their reach across African borders, the council aims to boost non-oil exports and diversify the nation's economy.

Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, Jumoke Oduwole, emphasized Nigeria's commitment to harnessing AfCFTA's potential for sustainable economic growth. She highlighted that the agreement aligns with President Bola Tinubu's agenda to diversify the economy and accelerate growth.

Furthermore, discussions at the Africa CEO Forum underscored the importance of collective action among African nations to fully realize AfCFTA's benefits. Policy alignment and infrastructure development were identified as critical factors in driving the continent's industrial revolution.

The NEPC's proactive approach, combined with governmental support, reflects Nigeria's strategic move to leverage AfCFTA for economic prosperity. By focusing on non-oil exports and regional integration, Nigeria aims to stimulate job creation, enhance competitiveness, and achieve long-term growth.
