Kebbi military widows deny sexual harassment allegations against Nigerian Army officers

The Military Widows Association (MIWA) in Kebbi State has strongly denied reports that its members were sexually harassed by top military officers before receiving their late husbands’ benefits.

Hajiya Asmau Noma, the state coordinator, dismissed the claims as "false, baseless, and misleading" during a press briefing in Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday.

“We were shocked by these allegations. At no point did MIWA Kebbi raise such issues. The report is fake and does not represent our members’ experiences,” Noma stated.

She clarified that accessing death benefits depends on the deceased officer’s unit, adding, “We don’t face any harassment or strenuous processes.”

The association urged the public to ignore the viral report, emphasizing their respectful treatment by military authorities.
