The Kano State Police Command has recorded a major breakthrough in anti-crime operations, arresting six suspected armed robbers and recovering four stolen vehicles in coordinated inter-state raids.
According to Police PRO SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, tactical teams conducted operations across Plateau, Kaduna, Jigawa and Kano between May 10-16, 2025. Key arrests include:
• Saidu Abubakar (Plateau) - Caught with stolen 2016 Toyota Corolla snatched in Kano
• Robbery trio Abdulaziz Usman (27), Umar Abubakar (22), Sunusi Abdullahi (28) - Allegedly invaded a Hotoro home at 3:30am, stealing Toyota Yaris, electronics and ₦102,000 cash
• Umar Aliyu (Kaduna) - Receiver of stolen goods
• Ibrahim Isa (Kano) - Intercepted selling stolen Howo concrete mixer truck from Jigawa
SP Kiyawa revealed: "The suspects confessed to belonging to syndicates specializing in vehicle theft and armed robbery." Recovered items include two Toyota models, Peugeot 406 and the mixer truck.
