According to the Oyo State Fire Service, the fire erupted behind Fart Oil Filling Station and quickly engulfed three out of ten prefabricated shops. Fortunately, no lives were lost, but freezers, drinks, and other valuables were completely burnt.

Firefighters arrived promptly and prevented the flames from spreading, saving nearby shops. Preliminary investigations revealed that the fire was caused by a plugged-in freezer left unattended overnight.
