Adeniyi Johnson Survives Robbery Attempt in Lagos, Warns Motorists About Dangerous Highway Spot

Adeniyi Johnson car damage after Lagos robbery attack

Nollywood actor Adeniyi Johnson has recounted a terrifying experience in Lagos after narrowly escaping a robbery attack late at night. The actor, who had just returned to Nigeria, took to his Instagram page to share a video of his damaged car and detail how the incident unfolded.

According to Johnson, the attack happened while he was driving along the stretch from Third Mainland Bridge towards Magodo. He explained that two trailers obstructed the road, forcing him to attempt an overtake maneuver. During that process, a group of robbers ambushed his car, trying to break the windshield and snatch off his side mirrors.

"Got back to the country I mean my country and na robbery dem take welcome me," he wrote. “It all happened within 15 seconds. I heard a big bang on my windshield and the next thing I saw were three thugs all over my car… From both sides I heard ‘yo mirror e’ and ‘fo glass e’.”

This marks the second time the actor has had a similar encounter. He noted that a previous attempt occurred back in April around 7:15 p.m. He warned fellow drivers to remain vigilant, especially on the route from Third Mainland Bridge descending toward the Secretariat and Magodo.

Adeniyi thanked God for his alertness, which he said helped him escape unscathed. He also urged the Lagos State government to prioritize real security over ineffective "stop and search" routines.
