My ‘Dead’ Twin Baby Is Alive—Doctor’s Wife Is Raising Him!" Abuja Mother Exposes Shocking Hospital Scandal

Abuja mother accuses doctor of stealing her twin baby at birth

A mother in Abuja, Mrs. Eunice Bright Ekwok, has made explosive allegations against a doctor, claiming he stole one of her newborn twins during delivery—only for her to discover the child alive nearly three years later.

The incident reportedly occurred at Divine Rain Maternity Clinic in Sauka, Abuja, in 2021. Mrs. Ekwok, who was told she was expecting twins during antenatal care, was denied a copy of her scan by Dr. Timothy Zeje, the clinic’s operator. After a cesarean section, she was handed only one baby and informed the other had died and was "scattered."

Distraught, Mrs. Ekwok demanded to see the remains but was refused. Years later, while visiting AMAC Hospital for immunization, she spotted a child resembling her missing son—in the care of Dr. Zeje’s wife. The child had identical dreadlocks and facial features.

After discreetly investigating, the Ekwoks were allegedly harassed, arrested multiple times, and denied a DNA test. Dr. Zeje, when contacted by Vanguard, stated the matter was with the police. The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) has pledged to investigate.

Think Cross River, a civic group supporting the family, vows to pursue justice. “We will get our child back. Poverty is not a crime,” declared leader Papa Dom Cklamz Enamhe.

The case has sparked national outrage, with calls for an immediate DNA test.
