The Federal Government has raised an alarm over a surge in cyber-slavery cases, where Nigerian youths are being trafficked abroad under false job offers and forced into cybercrime operations.
In a statement by Foreign Affairs Minister Yusuf Tuggar, the government revealed that young Nigerians, including minors, are being lured with promises of lucrative crypto jobs—only to be held captive in "419 scam factories" and forced to defraud victims worldwide.
The warning follows a recent rescue operation in Ghana, where Nigerian victims were found trapped in abusive cybercrime rings. Authorities urge citizens to verify job offers and report suspicious recruitment schemes.
