Suspected armed herders struck again in Benue State, abducting 19 passengers in two separate ambushes along the Adoka-Naka road in Gwer West LGA.
The attacks occurred Thursday morning, just 3km from Naka town, leaving families in panic.
One bus was traveling from Akpa (Kogi) to Makurdi, while the other was heading from Makurdi to Lokoja when gunmen intercepted them.
HRH Daniel Abomtse, Ter Tyoshin and Gwer West Traditional Council Chairman, confirmed the incident, revealing that an elderly woman, a nursing mother, her two children, and a driver were spared.
The victims reported the kidnappings to Naka Police Station, but authorities have yet to issue an official statement. Meanwhile, transport unions and locals demand urgent government action as insecurity worsens in the region.
