The All Progressives Congress (APC) South-South zone has issued a one-week ultimatum to controversial social media critic VeryDarkMan (VDM), demanding he apologize to Senate President Godswill Akpabio for calling his Vatican trip "shameful."
VDM, real name Martins Vincent Otse, had slammed Akpabio in a viral video for leading Nigeria’s delegation to Pope Francis’ funeral, arguing he should have been visiting crisis-ridden states like Benue and Plateau instead.
But the APC, in a statement by Zonal Organizing Secretary Blessing Agbomhere, accused VDM of "blackmail and slander", insisting Akpabio was rightly chosen by President Tinubu as Nigeria’s representative.
“Being a devout Catholic, Akpabio was a fitting ambassador for Nigeria at the Pope’s funeral. VeryDarkMan must stop his uninformed rants,” Agbomhere stated.
The party also defended Tinubu’s security efforts, dismissing VDM’s criticism as misguided activism. This comes amid rising public anger over insecurity, with many Nigerians questioning the Senate President’s foreign trips during domestic crises.
