Episode 3: The Paths We Cross
SUNNYSIDE COLLEGE - 1 PM
The two most popular boys on campus—Brandon, the renowned model, and Angelo, the rising actor—were infamous not only for their charm but also for their rivalry.
Despite their similar reputations, they couldn’t stand each other.
“I’ve got a photoshoot to get to.
I’ll pretend you don’t exist for now,” Brandon muttered before brushing past Angelo with a deliberate shoulder bump.
Angelo clenched his fists but held his temper.
“Whoa, Angelo and Brandon crossed paths, and no fight broke out? That’s progress,” Evan smirked from the sidelines.
Without a word, Angelo stormed off, frustration bubbling inside him.
MAGDALENA’S ORPHANAGE
“Come in,” Magdalena called when a knock interrupted the quiet of her office.
The door creaked open, revealing a married couple.
“Oh, it’s you two. Please, have a seat,” she smiled warmly.
“Good afternoon, Sister,” Mrs. McGwire began, her voice filled with anticipation.
“My husband and I came as soon as we got your call. Is it good news? Will you finally allow us to adopt Harmony?”

Magdalena hesitated. “I need to understand something first. Why are you so set on adopting Harmony in particular?”
Mrs. McGwire took a deep breath before speaking. “Nineteen years ago, I lost my baby girl in an accident.
It was devastating, and after the miscarriage, I couldn’t have children anymore.
Every time I look at Harmony, I see my lost daughter. I believe adopting her would help fill that void in our lives.”
“I’m so sorry for your loss,” Magdalena said softly. “That must have been incredibly difficult.”
“We promise to love her as our own,” Mr. McGwire added earnestly.
Magdalena nodded thoughtfully, just as the door opened and Harmony walked in.
“You called for me, Aunt Maggie?” Harmony asked, her voice filled with curiosity.
Magdalena smiled gently. “Harmony, this couple would like to adopt you. But it’s your decision. Would you like to join their family?”
Harmony’s face lit up with excitement. Her dream was finally coming true.
“Can I… Can I call you mom and dad already?” she asked eagerly, her eyes shining with hope.
STREETS OF DOWNTOWN
“Stop right there!” Three voices shouted from behind, chasing after a figure that darted through the crowded street.
“Great, they’re catching up,” the figure mumbled under her breath, trying to increase her speed.
Her hoodie slipped off, revealing her tousled hair.
From her baggy pants and oversized hoodie, she could easily be mistaken for a boy.
But this was Kaylee—a tomboy with a penchant for trouble.
The three pursuers caught up to her, and one yanked on her hoodie, pulling her to a halt.
“Hand over the bag, and we won’t have any problems,” the tallest guy said as he stepped forward.
Kaylee smirked defiantly.
“I’m not the one with the problem. You guys took that bag from an old lady.
I’m just taking it back. Call it... justice.”
The tall guy’s patience wore thin.
“This is your last warning. I don’t mind hitting girls.”
Kaylee’s eyes flashed with confidence as she assessed her options.
Without a second thought, she stretched the bag toward him.
As the second guy reached for it, she swiftly kneed him in the stomach, sending him to the ground in pain.
“You’re going to regret that!” the tall guy lunged at her, but Kaylee ducked, delivering a sharp kick before making her escape.
“Get back here!” they shouted, but she was already gone, disappearing into the alleyways of downtown.
