A viral video showing insurgents celebrating the capture and destruction of Nigerian Army MRAPs in Zamfara State has spotlighted the ongoing security crisis in northwest Nigeria.
The insurgents burned the Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles after allegedly seizing them during a confrontation with Nigerian troops.

Despite this, the Defence Headquarters clarified that the vehicles were abandoned in swampy terrain, and efforts to retrieve them were unsuccessful.
