UN Report Urges Global Action to Close Gender Gaps as Key Goals Remain Out of Reach

The latest UN report, 'Progress on the Sustainable Development Goals: The Gender Snapshot 2024,' highlights both strides and setbacks in global gender equality. 

Women now hold one in four parliamentary seats, and extreme poverty among women and girls has decreased significantly.

However, critical goals like gender parity in politics and eradicating poverty are still far from reach, with full parity not expected until 2063. 

The report underscores the massive economic costs of gender inequality and calls for renewed international efforts at the upcoming Summit of the Future to close these gaps and empower women and girls worldwide.
