NDLEA arrests 80-year-old Aremu Shojobi for cannabis trafficking, intercepts N14.9bn worth of opioids in major crackdown on illegal drugs.
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested an 80-year-old man, Aremu Shojobi, for allegedly trafficking 14 kilograms of cannabis in Lagos.
Shojobi, who admitted to selling drugs for over 25 years, sourced his supplies from Benin Republic and operated from his home.
The NDLEA also intercepted N14.9 billion worth of opioids, including 25 million pills of tapentadol and codeine-based syrups at the Tincan port.
The seizures highlight the agency’s intensified crackdown on drug trafficking, with the drugs posing significant public health risks.
