Previous Manchester Joined safeguard Gary Neville has said that it was 'awful' watching his previous colleague Cristiano Ronaldo cry after he crashed out of the World Cup 2022 on Saturday.
Neville said it was terrible seeing Ronaldo, who he portrayed as the flat out best ever, shed tears in such a way.
Morocco finished Portugal's Reality Cup run in Qatar on Saturday, with Walid Regragui's side now the primary African country to arrive at a World Cup semi-last.
The 37-year-old Ronaldo began from the seat to approach the men's untouched appearance record of 196 global matches.
Youssef En-Nesyri's first-half objective settled the quarter-last and sent the Middle Easterner country into the semi-finals, where they confronted the reigning champs France on Wednesday.
Ronaldo strolled straight down the passage in tears at full-time and Neville, one of the Portuguese's new pundits, was by the by ready to identify with the previous Manchester Joined star man.
“I do want to mention Cristiano Ronaldo because I saw that image of him crying in the tunnel,” Neville said on his Sky Sports podcast.
“That was a horrible image for me. That’s that moment where he knows his dream of winning the World Cup for his country has gone.
“He’s one of the greatest, if not the greatest player of all time. It was horrible to see him like that. He’s had a tough couple of months.”
Brazil, The Netherlands, Portugal and Britain will expect to get back to football's most noteworthy stage in 2026 when Mexico, Canada and the US of America will have the World Cup while Argentina, Morocco, France and Croatia will fight it out for the prize in the leftover days of the show-stopper in Qatar.
