Actress, screenwriter and film producer, Uche Jombo, is very disturbed about the incessant extra judicial killings in Nigeria in particular and abroad.
The 40-year old mother of one from Abriba, Abia State married to Puerto Rican Kenny Rodriguez vented her anger by urging President Muhammadu Buhari to disband the State Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) immediately.
The curvy graduate from the University of Calabar in an open letter on her Instagram page ostensibly directed to Buhari wrote:
“Can we discuss gun violence and control please! The world lost a lot to gun violence yesterday (Sunday), starting from Nigerian #SARS shooting and killing an innocent citizen # Kolade Johnson, to American rapper #nipseyhussle who was gunned down.
“In fact one of his quotes about the value of life is just running through my head as I write this which brings me back to the fact I can’t believe it's 2019, and we are still writing #ENDSARS, like seriously?”
Concluding, Uche made a matter-of-fact demand to Nigeria’s president, saying:
“Calling on @muhammadubuhari. Time to act is NOW. Police reform is needed asap.”
