The Osun State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has urged the Nigerian electorate to vote against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections, accusing the party of lacking the administrative capacity and policy framework required to manage the nation's economy effectively.
In an official statement released on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, by the Osun State Publicity Secretary, Oluwaseun Abosede, the ADC firmly rejected claims made by the APC Presidential Campaign Council regarding party administration fees and local secretariat operations, describing them as cheap attempts to distract citizens from pressing socioeconomic crises.
The ADC argued that households and businesses nationwide are continuing to suffer under mounting inflation, food price spikes, and unresolved national security threats under current federal leadership.
The opposition party also fired back at criticisms leveled by the Minister of Solid Minerals, Dele Alake, against ADC National Secretary Rauf Aregbesola concerning his eight-year tenure as Osun State Governor.
Highlighting Aregbesola's legacy, the ADC cited the construction of 170 state-of-the-art model schools, the creation of thousands of youth jobs through the Osun Youth Empowerment Scheme (O-YES), the delivery of over 500 kilometers of urban and rural roads via World Bank and French government partnerships, and extensive healthcare upgrades across nine state hospitals.
The party urged voters to focus on concrete policy benchmarks rather than political propaganda when deciding Nigeria's political future at the ballot box in 2027.
"The time has come for Nigerians to reject political propaganda and demand accountable leadership that prioritises the welfare of the people... Voters must use their ballots in 2027 to decide the ruling party’s future." — Oluwaseun Abosede, Osun ADC Publicity Secretary
