Ahead of their crucial Round of 16 knockout fixture at the ongoing 2026 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup, Nigeria’s Flamingos head coach Akeem Busari has challenged his forward line to show lethal precision in front of goal against Mexico.

The Nigerian national team will square off against their North American opponents at the Stade Prince Moulay El Hassan in Rabat on Thursday at 4:00 pm Nigerian time.

The Flamingos advanced through the group stage after netting six goals and conceding three, displaying strong attacking potential alongside defensive vulnerability during high-pressure spells.

Addressing reporters at the team's training base, Busari emphasized that the knockout format permits zero room for wastefulness.

He stated that tactical sessions have focused heavily on final-third decision-making, clinical positioning, and set-piece efficiency to ensure the team secures a coveted spot in the tournament quarter-finals.

"We know there is no second chance, and we let the players know why it is important to take their opportunities once and for all." — Akeem Busari, Flamingos Head Coach
