The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is trending across Nigerian educational portals and student forums following an announcement that candidates for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) can now verify and upload their O'Level results directly from home.
Historically, UTME candidates were required to physically visit accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres to upload WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB results onto the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).
Under the newly introduced self-service mechanism via the JAMB e-Facility portal, candidates can verify their academic results directly through an automated system using a verification code, their National Identification Number (NIN), or SMS services (sending "VERIFY" to 55019 or 66019).
The initiative was launched to reduce long queues at CBT centres, eliminate administrative errors, and accelerate the processing of 2026/2027 university admissions, coinciding with deadline extensions announced by institutions such as the University of Lagos (UNILAG).
