Appearing live on Arise News, Senator Victor Umeh (Anambra Central) heavily criticized the Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja after it set aside its own final judgment that originally mandated the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to register the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC)—the prominent platform widely backing Peter Obi’s latest presidential bid.
Senator Umeh described the reversal as a calculated political hit job carefully timed to sabotage the opposition's candidate upload deadline.
Umeh revealed that the trial judge, Justice Insa Dashan, had already explicitly considered and dismissed the identical logo-conflict claims involving the Peace Movement Party (PMP) in his original December 2025 verdict, even labeling the group a "purported" association.
By turning around six months later in June 2026 to rescind the registration order based on that exact dismissed entity, Umeh argued that the court has committed a catastrophic miscarriage of justice that the Court of Appeal will swiftly correct.

Senator Umeh vehemently argued that a judge cannot casually hit a reset button on a major political party after it has legally interacted with the public for over half a year.
