Rusticated University Student Arrested Alongside Gang Members Terrorizing Egbeda

Operatives attached to the Lagos State Police Command have successfully foiled a high-level midnight cult initiation ceremony in the Egbeda area of Alimosho local government, arresting four notorious suspects during a highly coordinated tactical raid.

The successful anti-crime breakthrough was disclosed in an official statement on Thursday, June 4, 2026, by the newly appointed Command Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, who revealed that the covert midnight operation led to the immediate recovery of an English Beretta pistol loaded with 10 live cartridges, a locally made cut-to-size pistol, and a lethal jackknife.

The apprehended suspects have been identified by security officials as Nurudeen Ganiu, 34; Oluwaleke Fagbula, 38; Emmanuel Silas, 41; and Nurudeen Abdullahi, 41.

Preliminary profiling and deeper interrogations conducted by the police revealed that one of the suspects actively operates as a dreaded cult gang leader and is a rusticated undergraduate student who was formally expelled from a prominent university in Ogun State back in 2022 over violent, cult-related campus infractions.

The suspects have reportedly confessed to being active, high-ranking members of the notorious Eiye Confraternity.

Police intelligence established that the ring routinely utilized operational motorcycles to execute armed thuggery, ambush unsuspecting commuters, and disrupt public social gatherings at gunpoint.

Applauding the field squad for their swift response, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Tijani Fatai, reaffirmed the command’s unalloyed commitment to completely eradicating cultism and gang violence across all Lagos neighborhoods.
