Relief has swept through the Ode-Oriya community in the Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State following the successful release of their traditional ruler, Chief Adeniyi Adelana, the Oloriya (Baale) of Ode-Oriya Owo.
The 60-year-old monarch was granted his freedom after spending several agonizing days in the custody of heavily armed men who had violently invaded his private residence earlier this month.
During the initial abduction, the monarch's wife had sustained severe gunshot injuries while courageously attempting to resist the assailants, throwing the entire community into panic.
Confirming the development, an official community announcement widely circulated across major social media networks, stating simply, "Good News! Our Royal Father Has Been Released."
Reports indicate that the freed traditional ruler has been immediately transferred to an undisclosed clinical health facility within Owo town to receive urgent medical evaluation and attention following the trauma of captivity.
"Good News! Our Royal Father Has Been Released," the community announcement read, sparking widespread celebration across the local government area.
However, despite the general atmosphere of celebration surrounding the monarch's return, fresh security anxieties have emerged within the community.
Serious concerns are mounting over the safety of the individual who volunteered to deliver the ransom demanded by the kidnappers.
According to details contained within a community bulletin, the designated courier has been detained by the abductors and has failed to return home after delivering the cash payload.
At the time of filing this report, the Ondo State Police Command had yet to issue an official statement addressing the alleged detention of the ransom bearer or the current state of the investigation.
