FCT Police Trace and Nab Viral Video Bandits in Zuba Hideout Raid

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has successfully tracked down and apprehended three notorious bandits captured in a disturbing viral video brandishing sophisticated AK-47 assault rifles and illegally clad in military camouflage.

Addressing journalists during an official press conference in Abuja on Friday, June 5, 2026, the FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, revealed that he immediately ordered a high-level digital forensic investigation into the origin of the online footage to isolate the coordinates of the armed men.

Following a meticulous evaluation of the video’s metadata and actionable field intelligence, operatives attached to the FCT Police VCRU Sector 5 alongside a tactical team from the Zuba Division—spearheaded by the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Ogu Caleb Ikechukwu—executed a midnight raid on a hidden camp in Runji Village, Zuba, where the suspects were arrested.

The police chief identified the apprehended suspects as Umar Babangida, Adamu Yeti, and Yahaya Idris, who are all confirmed residents of the notorious Rijana axis in Kaduna State.

Deeper interrogations and a digital sweep of the suspects' mobile devices uncovered a vast cache of incriminating photographs and additional clips showing the gang members proudly donning military fatigues, operating walkie-talkies, and testing weaponry.

Preliminary findings indicate that the gang obtained their firearms directly from their supreme commander, an elusive bandit kingpin known simply as “Esco,” who operates primarily out of Kaduna and is currently being hunted by national security forces.

Items recovered during the successful operational sweep include one fully loaded AK-47 rifle packed with 30 rounds of live ammunition, eight operational smartphones, two tactical jackknives, and high-capacity power banks.

CP Sanusi assured the public that the suspects remain under custody and will be heavily prosecuted to deter digital banditry and security impersonation.
