A deep wave of panic has enveloped the residents of the Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State after a heavily armed band of kidnappers invaded Ugbosi Quarters in the Idogun community, destroying local residential properties and abducting a nine-year-old child in the dead of the night.
The violent assault, which occurred at approximately 1:30 AM on Friday, June 5, 2026, involved the criminals shooting sporadically into the air to disorient and terrorize the neighborhood.
According to community sources, the intense gunfire forced terrified locals to flee their beds, escaping into nearby thickets and neighboring villages for sanctuary as the armed men aggressively breached individual residences.
Confirming the harrowing incident, the Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abayomi, disclosed that a formal complaint was lodged in the early hours of Friday by Mr. Olaosebikan Isaac and Mr. Joel Owalekan.

The bandits forcefully tore through the home of Mr. Isaac, a local Christian pastor; in a desperate, frantic bid to preserve his own life amid direct gunfire, the cleric managed to flee into the surrounding bushland, leaving behind his young son, Master Olaosebikan Victor, who was subsequently taken hostage by the predators.
The bandits also targeted the residence of Mr. Owalekan, inflicting severe structural damage to the property before he too escaped into the dark.
In response to the crisis, the Ondo State Commissioner of Police, CP Felix Ohagwu, has ordered the immediate deployment of all tactical response teams and intelligence units.
Security personnel alongside the regional Western Nigeria Security Network (Amotekun Corps) have successfully formed a joint operational grid, aggressively combing local forests and suspected escape pathways to rescue the child unhurt and bring the perpetrators to absolute justice.
