The internal crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) reached a boiling point this week as loyalists of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike asserted "total control" over Wadata Plaza, the party's national headquarters in Abuja.
Following a Supreme Court judgment favoring the leadership of Alhaji Abdulrahman Mohammed and Senator Samuel Anyanwu, the pro-Wike faction has also seized control of Legacy House in Maitama and the uncompleted 12-story national secretariat in the Central Business District.
In a stern warning during his monthly media chat, Minister Wike vowed to seal and confiscate any property in Abuja used by the rival Tanimu/Makinde faction.

“Any house that allows them... I will take that house. Anybody who knows me knows I will do it,” Wike declared, framing the move as an enforcement of court orders.
According to Qubes Magazine, the rival faction led by Governor Seyi Makinde has dismissed these threats.
Party spokesperson Ibrahim Abdullahi confirmed that while they have vacated Wadata Plaza due to current court-backed security presence, they are operating from a temporary, undisclosed location.
The leadership split remains deep, with the Wike-backed chairman insisting that governors Bala Mohammed and Seyi Makinde were expelled from the party last year, a claim the opposing side vehemently denies.
