Suspected bandits have abducted three prominent members of a commercial motorcycle riders’ union in Kogi State.
The victims, including Mr. Jonathan Stephen Monday (Chairman of the union’s Ogori Branch), Mr. Ashemadaun Eben, and Mr. Mosigbodi Jethro Adoga, were seized along the notorious Ageva–Magongo road on Wednesday, May 6, 2026.
The group was reportedly part of a delegation returning from Lokoja, where they had participated in a solidarity rally supporting the re-election bids of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for 2027.

Their bus was ambushed by heavily armed men in an area that has seen a recent surge in commuter attacks.
According to Qubes Magazine, the incident has triggered widespread panic among residents and transport operators in the region.
Local leaders are calling on the state government and security agencies to increase patrols along the Ageva–Magongo axis to ensure the safe release of the victims and prevent further kidnappings.
