Frank Lampard Named Championship Manager of the Season After Coventry’s PL Promotion

Coventry City manager Frank Lampard and Middlesbrough midfielder Hayden Hackney have emerged as the big winners of the 2026 EFL Awards. 


Lampard, in his first full season with the Sky Blues, was named Championship Manager of the Season after successfully guiding Coventry City back to the Premier League for the first time in 25 years.

On the pitch, Boro's 23-year-old sensation Hayden Hackney claimed the Championship Player of the Season title. 


Hackney has been the engine room for Middlesbrough's promotion charge, tallying five goals and eight assists.


Other Notable Winners:


League One: Michael Skubala (Lincoln City) won Manager of the Season for ending a 65-year drought to reach the second tier, while Dom Ballard (Leyton Orient) took home Player of the Season.


League Two: Andy Woodman (Bromley) and Aaron Drinan (Swindon Town) were named Manager and Player of the Season, respectively.


Goal of the Season: Josh Tymon (Swansea City) for his sensational left-footed volley against Oxford United.
