Rotimi Amaechi has defended his performance as Minister of Transportation, asserting that the infrastructure drive initiated during his tenure has ground to a halt.
In a recent media outing on Channels TV, Amaechi challenged Nigerians to compare his results with those of other presidential hopefuls.
Amaechi highlighted several key projects—including the Lagos rail line, the Deep Sea Port, and a locomotive assembly plant—as evidence of his technocratic capacity.
He specifically expressed disappointment over the state of a coach-assembling factory which he claims has been neglected.
"From the day I left as Minister of Transport, that construction stopped," Amaechi declared, noting that the momentum for an "infrastructure revolution" disappeared upon his exit.
Reflecting on his time as Governor of Rivers State, Amaechi also claimed to be the only leader in Nigeria who successfully "confronted and surmounted insecurity."
He urged voters to move beyond rhetoric and focus on the proven capacity of candidates to manage the country effectively.
