United States President Donald Trump has launched a scathing attack on the United Kingdom, declaring that America does not need British assistance to win the ongoing war with Iran, as tensions between the long-time allies continue to escalate.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump criticized the UK's delayed consideration of deploying two aircraft carriers to the Middle East, suggesting the decision came after the conflict had already been largely decided.
"The United Kingdom, our once great ally, maybe the greatest of them all, is finally giving serious thought to sending two aircraft carriers to the Middle East," Trump wrote.
He directed his remarks directly at British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, adding: "That's OK, Prime Minister Starmer, we don't need them any longer. But we will remember. We don't need people that join wars after we've already won."
