The Zone 2 Police Command has paraded four suspected members of an interstate robbery syndicate accused of stealing valuables worth over N3 billion from high-end Lagos estates including Parkview, Banana Island, and Lekki Phase 1.
Paraded on Thursday, the suspects were identified as Francis Fidelis (34), Hassan Atahiru (30), Ikpi Johnson Ibiang, and Aishatu Seni Ali.
According to police, Fidelis—believed to be based in Port Harcourt—allegedly coordinated the syndicate’s operations across multiple states. His arrest followed a written petition submitted on February 4, 2026, by the Parkview Residents Association, Ikoyi, to the office of the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 2.
The petition detailed repeated burglaries within the estate, prompting the matter to be transferred to the Zonal Anti-Piracy Unit for discreet investigation.
Acting on intelligence, operatives traced the suspects to a short-let apartment—George Residence—along Femi-Pedro Street in Parkview Estate. Fidelis and other gang members were arrested on February 6, 2026. The operation continued into the early hours of February 7, leading to the recovery of luxury vehicles, jewellery, electronics, and burgling tools.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Adamu Bello Mohammed, who represented AIG Adegoke Fayoade during the parade, confirmed the scale of the heist.
“We are expanding the investigation to identify other members of the syndicate and recover additional stolen items,” he said.
Police alleged that Fidelis relocated to Lagos in 2025 and deliberately rented short-term apartments inside gated communities to study estate layouts and evade security. He reportedly operated wearing hooded clothing and face masks, armed with weapons.
His alleged confession led to the arrest of Atahiru, described as a receiver of stolen goods. Atahiru reportedly admitted to purchasing gold and diamond jewellery, gold bars, and designer wristwatches from Fidelis after meeting him in 2024.
Investigators allege that Atahiru moved stolen valuables to Cotonou, Benin Republic, through his brother to avoid detection. Part of the proceeds was allegedly used to purchase a 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLE valued at approximately N74 million for Fidelis.

· Plastic pistol, five crowbars, pliers, screwdrivers, kitchen knife, spanner
· Face masks, hooded clothing, gloves
· Seven mobile phones, four iPads
· Jewellery (earrings, wristwatches, rings, necklaces, bracelets)
· Two multi-compartment backpacks
Police said the suspects will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigations.
