Security forces have neutralised a wanted kidnapping kingpin known as Amadu during a military operation in the Jama’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The operation, carried out on Sunday, successfully targeted the hideout of a notorious gang responsible for kidnapping, cattle rustling, and armed robbery in the region.
Details of the raid were made public in a post on Monday by security analyst Zagazola Makama. According to the report, troops acted on credible intelligence and stormed the criminal hideout located in Malafiya town, Atiku Ward. Amadu was identified as the leader of the gang and was listed among the most wanted suspects by security agencies.
The mission, initially aimed at arresting the gang members, escalated into a gun battle. “During the exchange of fire, Amadu tried to flee and was neutralised,” the security update stated. Following the operation, a locally fabricated pistol was recovered from the scene.
The elimination of Amadu is a significant blow to criminal networks operating in Malafiya and surrounding communities. The area has witnessed a surge in kidnappings and violent crimes, with gangs often targeting travelers and residents for ransom. Calm has reportedly returned to the area, with security personnel intensifying patrols to prevent any regrouping of criminal elements or retaliatory attacks.
