Five suspects have been arrested by security operatives following a brutal attack on a 16-year-old girl, Endurance Sabo, during an attempted kidnapping in Goska village, Kaninkon Ward of Jema’a Local Government Area, Kaduna State.
The incident, which occurred on Saturday, sparked widespread outrage after it was revealed that the teenage victim sustained severe injuries, including the amputation of one of her hands. The suspects were apprehended after a swift security intervention coordinated by the Chairman of Jema’a Local Government Area, Mr Peter Tanko Dogara.
**The development was confirmed in a statement issued by PUNCH Metro.**
According to local accounts, the attackers attempted to abduct Endurance Sabo alongside her grandmother and four younger sisters. While the grandmother and other children managed to escape unharmed, Sabo was captured by the assailants and seriously injured before security operatives arrived at the scene.
Confirming the arrests, Dogara, through his Special Adviser on Media and Communication, Paul Aliyu, said the suspects were arrested after the council received a distress call from the community.

“Upon receiving the distress call, the Chairman of Jema’a Local Government immediately coordinated with security operatives to launch a rescue operation, which led to the rescue of Miss Endurance Sabo and the arrest of the five suspects,” the statement read.
The council chairman expressed deep regret over the severity of the injuries sustained by the teenager.
“Regrettably, she had sustained severe injuries during the ordeal, including the amputation of one of her hands,” the statement added.
It was further disclosed that Sabo is currently receiving medical treatment at the Sir Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa Memorial Hospital in Kafanchan. The local government has also made arrangements for her referral to a tertiary health facility for advanced medical care.
“The victim is now receiving treatment at Sir Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa Memorial Hospital in Kafanchan, and the Council Chairman has promised to take full responsibility for her medical bills,” Dogara said.
The attack has heightened concerns over rising insecurity in rural communities across Southern Kaduna. Residents of Goska and neighboring villages have called on authorities to intensify efforts against criminal elements operating in the area.
In response, Dogara appealed for calm, urging residents not to resort to jungle justice. He assured the public that security agencies have been fully mobilised to maintain peace and ensure residents can go about their lawful activities without fear, especially during the festive season.
