The posts, which surfaced under the account name “Story of an Angel”, included screenshots of conversations dating back to December 2023 between Omah Lay and Mavin Records star Rema. In the chats, both artists discussed potential collaborations and shared musical ideas — including a “mara” recording from Omah Lay.

What caught fans’ attention was that a later publication described Rema’s new sound as “Mara,” leading to speculation that Omah Lay’s concept may have been used without credit.

The discussions have revived Omah Lay’s August 2024 revelation that his album idea was stolen, forcing him to re-record an entire project. While he never named the artist involved, the new posts have led fans to draw connections.

One cryptic caption from the alter ego account read in part:

Popular producer Tempoe has previously confirmed in an interview that Omah Lay’s project had been stolen by another artist, requiring a complete rewrite.

So far, neither Omah Lay nor Rema has directly addressed the controversy, leaving fans to debate whether this is a misunderstanding, subliminal callout, or the start of a major industry fallout.

Despite the drama, many fans have expressed excitement for Omah Lay’s upcoming project, noting that his creative resilience could make the album one of his most personal works yet.
